Dream Catcher of Los Angeles
(Therapeutic Riding Center)

Role: Volunteer

Volunteering at Dream Catcher of Los Angeles was a deeply rewarding experience, providing hands-on support for children with disabilities as they participated in therapeutic riding lessons. From assisting instructors during sessions to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, every moment was dedicated to helping riders build confidence and connection through horseback riding. Beyond the lessons, responsibilities included caring for the horses—cleaning stalls, grooming, stacking and reorganizing hay, and maintaining their well-being—ensuring they were healthy and ready to support the program’s mission. This experience reinforced the power of patience, compassion, and the incredible bond between humans and animals in fostering healing.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Role: Volunteer

During my time at CSULB, I had the privilege of volunteering for St. Jude at various fundraising events, supporting their mission to advance research and treatment for childhood illnesses. One memorable experience was assisting at the Warrior Dash Mud Run, where I helped with participant registration, and cheering on runners as they took on the challenging obstacle course to raise funds for St. Jude. Whether setting up booths, engaging with participants, or spreading awareness about the cause, each event was an opportunity to contribute to life-saving research and support families in need. Volunteering for St. Jude reinforced my passion for giving back and being part of a community dedicated to making a difference.

Meals on Wheels

Role: Volunteer

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels in Long Beach was a meaningful way to give back to the community by delivering hot, nutritious meals to elderly individuals in need. Each delivery was more than just providing food—it was an opportunity to check in, offer a friendly face, and brighten someone’s day with conversation and care.

Traveling around Long Beach to bring meals directly to seniors reinforced the importance of human connection and support for those who may be isolated or unable to cook for themselves. This experience highlighted the impact of small acts of kindness in fostering a stronger, more compassionate community.
